The Organization of American States (OAS) Secretary General Luis Almagro spoke at New York University’s Washington, D.C., center about political systems and human rights in Latin American countries. The secretary general focused on the political situation in Venezuela while commenting on the state of democracy throughout the entire region. He also discussed the Cuban political situation, unrest in Nicaragua and LGBTQ rights.
