Following the recent earthquakes in Puerto Rico, the\u00a0John Brademas Center<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0NYU Washington, DC<\/b>\u00a0will host a discussion with the CEO of Jos\u00e9 Andr\u00e9s\u2019 World Central Kitchen\u00a0Nate Mook<\/b>\u00a0and Mayor of Ponce, Puerto Rico\u00a0Maria \u201cMayita\u201d Mel\u00e9ndez<\/b>. Ponce was the region hit hardest by the earthquakes, the strongest registering a magnitude of 6.4, leaving large-scale structural damage and psychological trauma accompanied by severe aftershocks.<\/p>\n

The event will focus on relief efforts involving FEMA, food, and the extended community. Speakers will share poignant stories of hope and hospitality. The event will also cover how a celebrity chef became an unofficial humanitarian envoy for disaster management. Public affairs advisor\u00a0Gregorio J Igart\u00faa<\/b>\u00a0will join the conversation, to be moderated by CNN\u2019s\u00a0Geovanny Vicente Romero<\/b>.<\/p>\n
